Manzanillo has a pleasant weather all year round, the city with an average of 350 days of sunshine per year. From the immediate vicinity of the town, the Sierra Madre Mountains help maintain a cooler temperature than have the most known destinations located on the Pacific coast. The best time to visit Manzanillo is during the winter months, from November to April. The rainy summer season lasts from June to October, when the afternoon storms turn the entire region in lush shades of green.

If you eat in the restaurant in the city of Manzanillo, a cheap meal can cost about 57.50 MXN, a table for two that includes three dishes can cost about 250.00 MXN, a meal at McDonalds or something similar will cost about 62.50 MXN. The cost of indigenous beers (0.5 liters) is 10.00 MXN, while the imported beer (0.33 liter bottle ) is 15.00 MXN. A Cappuccino costs 30.00 MXN, a Coke / Pepsi (0.33 liter bottle ) costs 5.00 MXN and a flat water (0.33 liter bottle ) costs 5.50 MXN.

Manzanillo is filled with hotels of all types. In general, beach hotels are located along the beautiful Playa de Santiago. The drawback of these hotels is that there are not close to the many restaurants and shops in downtown Manzanillo. The visitors staying in hotels located in the city center are facing the opposite problem. Without a car, it is expensive to get to the beach. A downtown hotel visitors will save money in terms of meals, quite cheap in this central area. The restaurants on the beach tend to be more expensive.

There are cheap hotels both on the beach and in downtown Manzanillo, though less on the beach. An affordable hotel in the city of Manzanillo is the Colonial Hotel in downtown. If you want to stay on the beach, the Marbella Hotel is a very reasonable alternative. At the other end of the spectrum is the Barceló Karmina Palace Deluxe, a five-star hotel, which offers everything from golf, to spa and a children’s club. Another option for a luxury hotel is the Las Alamandas.
