Three hours ride from Guadalajara on the highway and you can arrive at the Rinco de Guayabitos of Mexico. This is where you can find the cobalt blue Mexican Pacific coastline. Be one of the sun seekers and you can enjoy a wonderful weekend of sun, sand and the beach, a great family outdoor activity. Families of Guadalajara a basically a friendly lot, so you can mingle freely with them or patronize the many vendors walking pass you with their barbequed shrimp, deep sea delicacy etc. Pelicans are almost everywhere around, vendors are teased as these pelicans seemed to be entertaining you with the ‘vendor chasing’. You can find in a few streets away many restaurants, cafes and live entertainment. There are modest bungalows and shops that sells gifts targeting at tourists. Beach front hotels, resorts or vacation rentals are also packed here.

Before you get there, do learn some basic Spanish phrases as it will definitely come into handy. For active and adventurous tourist out there, you must check out the 2 mile long beach doing wind surfing, kayaking, fish, jet skiing and snorkeling. Go to the south to take the boat rides that comes with lunch trips to the offshore island. If you happened to be there in February, check out the Tournament of Sport Fishing of the Sail Fish.

Riviera Nayarit is just between the port of San Blas to Ameca River or Rio Ameca that empties into Banderas Bay. The main places to check out are Chacalilla, Chacala Bay, Alta Vista, Bucerias, San Francisco, Los Ayala, Penita de jaltemba, Aticama, Sayulita, Los de Marcos as well as Rincon de Guayabitos. Bahia de Banderas or the Bay of Flags is the largest natural bay in Mexico. Mainly, their economy here is based on tourism, agriculture and fishing. They have maize, sorghum, beans, tobacco, watermelon, rice and mango listed as the main crops. You can also find exotic fruits like litchi or lychee, papaya and guanabana which in English we called it Soursop. Soursop are high in carbohydrates especially fructose, it also has herbal medicinal benefits such as inhibit the growth of human breast cancer cells. If you enjoy chilling at secluded beach area, there is a small beach area with calm emerald-green waters called Chacalilla on the Pacific coast and south of Puerto Vallarta. Scuba diving, kayaking, or even exploring petroglyph or rock engravings during break waters are exciting activities you may want to include in your itinerary.
