San Agustinillo

Another Mexican exotic beach to be featured here is the 1300 meters long San Agustinillo in Oaxaca. It has medium grain sand of golden colour at a spread of 50 meters wide. There is a curved bay and where you see the tiny village of San Agustinillo, you knew you are almost arriving. Just four kilometers west of Zipolite, body surfers and body boarders just simply will fall in love with this beach. It is cleaner than the Zipolite and Mazunte with not so much scenary than the other villages so to speak. Footpaths leads you from Zipolite to San Agustinillo, it is rather easy to get around. What is really attractive is the waters which are warm in blue and green tones. Playa Rinconcillo of this beach is the safest for swimming and family fun. What you are recommended to avoid is the strong waves and strong undertow at Playa Aragon. Small fishing village like San Agustinillo and the stretch of beach is what makes this place so mesmerizing. Sierra Madre del Sur Is rather a mountain range. Located in the southern part of Mexico and eastern part of Oaxaca. There are much to see other than the Pacific Ocean. And Playa San Agustinillo is being so near to Mazunte, you can find an accommodation there very easily.

The other town on the southern coast of Oaxaca is the Santa Maria Tonameca. Though it is a rural place, it is famous for the beach communities of La Ventanilla, Mazunte and San Agustinillo mentioned earlier. Mulegé, Baja California Sur is an oasis town but it is really an interesting place with many attractions to look out for. For example the Mission which was founded in 1705 allows you to overlook the entire river valley with its great location so high above the river. If you are into art and paintings, here in the caves at Sierra de Guadalupe, you can find extensive cave paintings. More such exotic art is available at Sierra de San Borjita and La Trinidad as well. Finally, you should also visit the old prison which was built without bars! So it means the prisoners are free to walk anywhere they want to go in the town, and even maintain and establish their families. The only condition is to return in the evening. No one tries to escape as there is only an empty desert to run away to. At that time, the prisoners also are assisting in the tracking of anyone trying to escape and they help to capture them back if they encounter anyone doing so. Nowadays, you still can see this old prison but it is a museum.
